Large Scale Computational Physics on Massively Parallel Computers

Parallel computers have become increasingly important as a tool for solving computationally demanding problems in statistical as well as particle physics. Today we have to learn the techniques needed to program massively parallel computers and gain expericence with the handling of our specific physics problems on such machines. Many of us believe that this is the most promissing road to even faster computers with a performance in the Teraflops regime, which will allow us to answer many of the open questions in statistical and high energy physics.

It was the aim of this workshop to discuss results obtained from simulations of physical models on these machines, exchange ideas about efficient implementations of old as well as new parallelizeable algorithms, and to discuss the status of the various projects that aim at a construction of massively parallel computers with Teraflops performance.
